Trip Details

This Summer Elmont is going on an international mission trip to Ecuador! We will be partnering with Happy Feet International. On the trip we will bring shoes to the villages, wash the feet of the children, give them a brand new pair of shoes, and share the gospel with them using color bracelets.
Who Can Go On The Trip?
We are looking for a total group of 18 people. This can be anyone ages 10+ if their parent goes with them, and 15+ without a parent.

Note for youth parents: Kensey will be on the trip and would be happy to look out for/ encourage students who want to go!
What Does A Day Look Like in the Villages?
We will leave for the villages after breakfast and stay until around 3. There, we will wash the feet of the children of the village and give them new shoes. While we wash their feet, we will share the gospel using color bracelets. Our mission guide will also share the gospel with the adults in the village, and we will connect the people in the village with the pastor who will continue to follow up with them spiritually after we leave.
How Much Does the Trip Cost? What Are My Fundraising Opportunities?
Trip Costs:
The trip will cost $3100. This covers flights, private bus and driver for the week, food cooked by a private chef,  lodging at a hotel or seminary, interpreters, missionary guide, bottled water, the shoes we will distribute, supplies for feet washing, and team t-shirts.
$1500- due Feb 1st for flight
$1600- due May 1st

Fundraising:
We know that paying for an international mission trip can be daunting, but God provides for what he has called! We will provide each person going on the trip with 1) a sample support letter that you can make your own and send to family and friends (this is an incredibly effective way to raise funds) 2) Some graphics for social media strategies that can help with raising support. If cost is the only thing holding you back from going on the trip, we encourage you to say yes anyways, try the fundraising strategies, and get to witness the miraculous as God loves to prepare the way for his name to be glorified!
What Can I Expect for Travel, Lodging, and Food?
  • Group seating on the flight.
  • bus pick-up and transport to either a seminary or private hotel. Where we stay is up in the mountains so it is cool and there is not any bug problems. The bus is our private bus for the week and will stay with us for the full duration of the trip.
  • 3 meals a day. Two at the hotel, and one on the road while visiting villages. Our meals will be prepared by a hired cook to ensure food safety and avoid illness. Bottled water is the only safe drinking water there and plenty will be provided.

Why Happy Feet?
  • Bill Conlee, the missionary leading the trip has been doing this for 20+ years. He has strong connections to the local ministers in Ecuador, so we know that the work we start the ministers will continue and it will leave a lasting impact.
  • Happy Feet Trips are perfect for the seasoned international traveller, and those leaving the country for the first time. On one hand, safety has been carefully considered, and the accommodations are fairly comfortable as far as mission work goes, but even in comfort and safety, the trip has real impact. We fill a deeply felt practical need with the shoes we bring, we share the gospel with every foot we wash which has eternal impact, and we connect the people we care for with their local pastor which means discipleship will continue after we leave.
