Love Your Neighbor

12 Weeks / One Act of Reaching Out to a Neighbor per Week / Changing the Way we Family to Change the World

About the Campaign

Mark 12:30-31 tells us the purpose of the Christian life, “’And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” As believers, we are called to love God with everything in us, and love our neighbor as ourselves, which is why here at Elmont we are Changing the Way we Family to Change the World. We believe that through unity as the family of faith, and reaching out and inviting others into our faith family, we can live out our God-given purpose. The world needs Jesus. Your city needs him. Your neighborhood needs him. It is not an accident that you live there. You were placed right where you are at this moment in time for this very reason. What does it look like to carry Christ to your world starting in your own front yard? That’s why we are launching the “Love Your Neighbor Campaign”. A 12- week campaign committed to one act of being a good neighbor per week, which will help us create habits of faithfulness to God's call on our lives.

12:31 Challenge on the Bless App

The Bless App is an incredible resource that reminds you to pray for 5 of your neighbors a day, allows you track and journal about how you have connected with your neighbors, and through connecting to Elmont on the app we can see our impact on our community as a church! We are challenging the people of Elmont to set their daily reminder time to 12:31 in light of Mark 12:30-31 which commands us to love God and love our neighbors, and pray together as one body for our community daily!
